What is NetGym

About us

I’m Danny Orlick, the driving force behind NetGym. My true passion emerged in the bustling heart of San Francisco, where I not only crushed software sales at New Relic and WalkMe for five consecutive years but also moonlighted as one of the top cycling instructors in the Marina District. It was an exhilarating time of straight hustlin’!

During my days in fitness, I witnessed the struggle studios and gyms faced with subbing and internal communication. Hundreds of emails, mass texts, Facebook groups, and Google spreadsheets—all just to find someone to cover a class. Each gym/studio had its own complicated sub policy and approval process, leading to frustrating moments like receiving requests for classes I wasn’t even certified to teach. It was a nightmare.

But it wasn’t just a headache for instructors like me; it was equally chaotic for managers juggling 20 to 100+ instructors. “No-shows” were all too common, and it hit me personally when I forgot to teach a class I’d committed to.

Fast forward to a pivotal moment where I realized how much these gyms and studios could lose when instructors didn’t show up, or members were surprised by a substitute. Fitness thrives on relationships, and that’s where my background in sales came into play.

I forged connections with leaders at some of the top fitness studios and health clubs in San Francisco and New York, and they all shared the same problem. More importantly, they were all willing to pay me to solve this problem, so we set out to build it.

NetGym was born—a tool that unifies sub activity for managers and instructors that automatically updates the live schedule, filters requests based on skill set and location, incorporates fitness-specific sub policies, and streamlines and unifies communication under 1 roof.

Our journey was just beginning.

Now, let me introduce you to the other half of our dynamic team—my incredible wife and co-founder, Danielle. Armed with a master’s in public health, Danielle initially delved into healthcare consulting and services research, managing large-scale health and wellness programs. However, living in the Bay Area’s led her to pivot into the tech world.

She joined WalkMe as one of its early Customer Success Managers, playing a pivotal role as it soared to an IPO in 2020. Over five years, Danielle went from handling strategic accounts to leading the entire customer success team. Danielle’s transition to NetGym was driven by her passion for health and wellness. After a thriving career in tech, she joined me in running NetGym’s customer success operations and product roadmap. That’s where our collaborative customer-centric magic really ignited.

Despite setbacks like COVID and Danielle having a major health scare, we persevered. So here we are, battle-tested and passionate as ever.

Welcome to our small but incredibly determined team. We’re thrilled to have you join us on this extraordinary journey.

Amazing Team
